I joined the cat fancy in 1977 after a gift of a wonderful Siamese girl by my husband to be. My cat love affair had begun! I registered my Zarlee prefix after acquiring a beautiful blue Burmese girl to show and breed from. I successfully exhibited and bred Burmese for 10 years, producing a number of ‘Best in Show’ winners. My interest covered all the colours, therefore I was involved in the early chocolate, lilac and tortie varieties as well as the browns and blues.

In 1982 I fell in love with the Birman, a breed I am still very much involved with, having imported from various countries to expand the bloodlines here. Again, my interest fell to the chocolate and lilac colours, a very hard yard indeed! The results have seen Best in Show wins in Australia, New Zealand and Europe with my Birmans.

I am a life member of the Birman Cat Club of Australia, having held the positions of Secretary, President and Show secretary.

My great interest and love of cats led me to become a judge and I successfully completed Group 1 in 1997 and my Group 2 license in 2003. I have had the pleasure to judge in many states of Australia, New Zealand and Europe.
