I was first elected to the Management Committee in 2004 following a number of people suggesting that I could make a difference. I am still in my first term in this position which I find quite challenging and rewarding as well as quite an ‘eye opener’ in terms of the various matters the Committee needs to deal with and resolve. As a Management Committee member I want other members to know that I am approachable and that they can discuss their concerns with me. We need the members to ‘air’ their concerns with Committee members not ‘bottle’ them up.
I feel I bring to the Committee the voice of the non-breeder/exhibitor members, which I hope will give a balance to discussions and decisions made by the Committee. The Committee is however made up, of what I consider a good balance of breeders, judges, stewards, non-breeders and exhibitors. All of whom are there to help the NSW CFA achieve its goals and those of its members.
I am a steward and became a companion Judge in 2003. I am also heavily involved in the Burmese Cat Society where I am the Secretary as well as the Show Manager. I am also involved with the Camden Show Society as a Committee member. In my professional career I also work with animals and feel that I have a great understanding with many aspects of animal ethics and welfare and believe I offer a valuable resource to Management Committee.
